Comcast Cares Volunteer Day
April 24, 2010
Every year Comcast Cable Company gives back to local communities across America during their annual Comcast Cares Day. Comcast Cares Day began in 2001 and has grown to become one of the largest single-day corporate volunteer efforts in the country. This year, Comcast Cares Day was held on April 24th and Comcast Cable Company in Tallahassee teamed up with Gandy’s Printers and A.M.W.A.T. Storage and Warehousing to support ASHBB. Throughout the months of March and April they collected nearly 1½ tons of food. On Saturday, April 24th, Comcast employees, their families and friends came together to help to make a positive impact in the Big Bend region by volunteering their time at the new ASHBB facility! Volunteers helped with a variety of service projects including sorting, categorizing and boxing food donations and repackaging, weighing and labeling mass quantities of dry rice.
