America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend feeds the hungry in 11 counties - Leon, Gadsden, Calhoun, Franklin, Gulf, Jefferson, Jackson, Liberty, Taylor, Madison and Wakulla. The majority of our operation is in the acquisition, storage, and distribution of more than six million pounds of food and grocery items annually through our 100+ partner agencies.  We educate and engage the community in the fight against hunger, and we rely on the assistance of the individuals, businesses and organizations who share our commitment to a healthy community.

Senior Grocery Program

Through the Senior Grocery Program we help feed impoverished seniors in our community at the end of the month when their financial resources have been exhausted. Currently, the program provides food to more than 725 seniors each month, including cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, proteins and grains, fresh bread and produce.

Child Nutrition Programs

America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend has several programs to meet the needs of children. 33% of the people we serve are children.

Disaster Relief

Disaster Relief is also an important, but hopefully limited, part of our service to the community at large.

Second Helpings

Our Prepared and Perishable Food Rescue Program.

Produce Program

Through this program, we provide fresh, nutritious, healthy fruits and vegetables to our partner agencies and to families in need. Various partners help us accomplish this.
