Child Nutrition Program
America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend has several programs to meet the needs of children. 33% of the people we serve are children.

BackPack Program
Provides 350 bags of food every week to children during the weekend in Leon and Gadsden Counties.
Summer Food Program
Provides a nutritious meal and snack to children at sponsored sites who might otherwise go hungry. By providing meals during the summer months, we ensure that children continue to have a stable source of food for their nourishment and growth. In 2011 the Summer Food Program provided 6,216 meals and snacks to children in need.
Afterschool Snack Program
Helps feed children in the Big Bend at local community centers and churches afterschool September - May.
